imagery redux 1

Long and golden they wait patiently to be devoured, singly or by the handful.
But don’t wait! or the crispness will fade, becoming soggy like a newspaper in the rain.

To the touch hot, like the red embers of a fire.

Pop it in your mouth, if it’s too long break it in half.

It burns, twice. The hot oil and the saltiness together making a sharp pleasant pair of invaders

Your tounge and teeth break it and a new experience occurs

More hot, but now with a softness, like the startchy inside of a pillow

Take the next one and dip it in the thick red oozing goo

Now the crisp and burn have brought a friend; sharp, and tangy sweet

Can I dip it in the marble-white, soft thickness next?

Smooth and salty, crsip and soft
