IF a story is to be a chivalric romance then it has to have courtly love and chivalric Knights. The Knights tale is a perfect example of a chivalric romance.Palamon and Arcite fall in love with Emily at first sight,
there's a joust at the end, and the more chivalric knight wins Emily's love. These examples prove it's chivalric romance because there are two Knights that fight for the affection of Emily. You can tell that Palamon and Arcite are chivalric Knights because when one of them escaped the other one didn't tell anyone that he had escaped. It's also a chivalric romance because when there's the joust Arcite prays that he wins the battle and he does but Palamon still ends up getting Emily affection because he's more chivalric than Arcite. In conclusion, the Knights tale is a chivalric romance because there is romance between the two Knights and Emily and chivalric Knights(Palamon,Arcite)
